Today, economic and social importance of tourism has been increasing everyday. Tourism sector is in a continuous and dynamic development due to market and competition conditions that are rapidly changing in global scale. Under these competition conditions, education policies that will meet the need for qualified graduates have been targeted. Parallel to these targets, the countries have intense focus on accommodation services field in scope of tourism sector and governments prepare special plans for this sector. The countries implement special policies in order to protect this sector and increase its competition power.

 

It is stated that in tourism sector there is a serious need for intermediate level staff and middle level managers. Also, when advertisement and insurance services, car renting companies, car park services, accommodation support services, sale and after-sale services are considered, it is true that this sector creates significant amount of indirect employment.

 

Basis of tourism management is formed by accommodation and travel enterprises. Due to its structure, accommodation management depends of labour intensive production and human factor is always on the foreground.

 

Tourism sector, together with its accommodation services and support services has important contributions to economies of countries in terms of employment.

HEALTH (EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN)

EMT Job Description and Characteristics 

An EMT functions as a primary care provider in the pre-hospital setting. The EMT is responsible for all aspects of care provided to the sick and injured. The EMT provides basic life support, including patient assessment, airway management, use of the automatic defibrillator and assisting patients with taking some of their own medications. In organizations that provide advanced patient care, the EMT will work under the direction of a Paramedic and assume a support role.

 ·          The EMT must have a thorough knowledge of the street, highway and addressing system in which he or she will be working.
·          The EMT must understand all applicable legal, moral and ethical issues surrounding emergency medical service.
·          The EMT must be dedicated to continued learning through continuing education and maintenance of licensures and certifications.
·          The EMT must be confident and accept the challenge and high degree of responsibility entailed in this position.
·          The EMT must have excellent judgment, be able to prioritize decisions and act quickly in the best interest of the patient.
·          The EMT must be able to function at an optimum level in a non-structured environment that is constantly changing.
·          The EMT must be able to remain calm while working in difficult and stressful situations, and stay focused while carrying out the functions of the position. Good judgment is essential, along with knowledge and technical skills.
·          The EMT must possess excellent verbal communication skills and be capable of adapting to situations with violence and emotional instability in multicultural settings.
·          The EMT must possess critical reasoning skills and be capable of applying them effectively in stressful situations. Self motivation is essential.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES

 The term information technology or IT is used to refer to an entire industry. In actuality, information technology is the use of computers and software to manage information. In some companies, this is referred to as Management Information Services (or MIS) or simply as Information Services (or IS). The information technology department of a large company would be responsible for storing information, protecting information, processing the information, transmitting the information as necessary, and later retrieving information as necessary.

 

Web designer

Web designers are responsible for the layout, visual appearance and usability of a website.  Using a combination of graphic design skills and technical knowledge of how web pages are created, the work involves:

  • liaising closely with a customer or client at the design stage and finding the answers to questions about why the site is needed, who the target audience will be, who the leading competitors are, etc;
  • producing a design that will be attractive to the target user, has a logical navigation system and has all the features required;
  • writing web pages in a combination of codes, such as HTML and XHTML, CSS, Javascript, Actionscript, ColdFusion, .Net, Flash, or using code-generating programs, such as Dreamweaver and Visual Studio;
  • deciding on how images and other material will be digitally optimised and presented for the web;
  • ensuring that material on the web site is accessible to all groups including those with disabilities;
  • testing the site for functionality in different browsers and at different resolutions;
  • fixing errors.

Web designers will have knowledge of graphic design packages such as Fireworks or Photoshop in order to produce basic layout and manipulate images. Skills in e-commerce and server side technologies, such as PHP and .Net, and internet security are also important. As users gain faster access to the internet via broadband, web designers with skills in multimedia and interactivity are likely to be in greater demand.
